Lace wig storefront

Hair that doesn’t announce itself

Sable Strand hero: serif headline Hair that doesn’t announce itself beside a photo of long dark body-wave hair

Background

Sable Strand sells HD lace wigs in four textures—straight, body wave, deep wave and curly—pre-plucked and ready to wear, or to hand to a stylist for the final cut.

Challenge

Wig sites tend to be loud with discounts and comparison shots, which makes quality harder to judge. The brand wanted a quieter, more credible voice and a clear explanation of the lace, its key selling point.

Our Role

  • Visual Identity
  • Web Design
  • Frontend Development

Solution

A warm grey ground, high-contrast serif headlines and large hair photography set a restrained, premium tone. Products follow “texture first, then length,” a cap diagram explains HD lace, and a stylist consultation gives undecided visitors a way forward.

A texture close-up grid

One close-up per texture with a line on upkeep, so people choose with their eyes rather than a spec list.

A diagram of the lace

A line drawing labels the lace front, hairline, combs and strap, turning “why it reads as skin” into something easy to grasp.

Ask a stylist

Send a hairline photo and the look you want; a stylist replies with texture, length and density—warmer than a size chart.

Frequently asked questions

The questions we’re asked most about this project’s design choices and delivery.

Why no promotions or before-and-after shots on a wig site?

Wig sites are usually loud with discounts and comparisons, which makes quality harder to judge. Sable Strand wanted a quiet, credible voice—warm grey, serif headlines and large hair photography—so the product itself reads as premium.

Why draw a diagram of the lace?

HD lace is the key selling point, but “why it reads as skin” is hard to explain in a sentence. A line drawing labelling the lace front, hairline, combs and strap turns a technical detail into something people grasp at a glance.

How does the stylist consultation help conversion?

Texture, length and density combine in many ways, and undecided shoppers mostly need an expert view. Send a hairline photo and the look you want, and a stylist replies with a recommendation and why—more reassuring than a size chart.

How long does a storefront for a high-ticket category like wigs take?

We usually build on Shopify, with the consultation form and photo upload connected to the support desk. Visual identity, photo direction and development run in parallel, and launch typically takes 4 to 6 weeks.
